New Sony FX8 Cinema Camera Rumor

  • The rumored Sony FX8 cinema camera features a 12K sensor with a horizontal pixel count of 12,032.
  • The Sony FX8 will support dual native ISO and enhanced sensitivity similar to the .
  • 16 stops of dynamic range at three ISO settings: 500, 2000, and 8000.
  • The Sony FX8 will support high-quality full-frame/S35 format 8K30p and 4K60p recording (17:9, 16:9), and supports 1.04x cropped 16:9 4K120p recording.
  • Although the FX8’s sensor is marketed as an 81-megapixel effective sensor based on a 16:9 crop factor—in line with Cinema Line conventions—it is clearly a full-frame sensor with a total of 96 million pixels.
  • Similar to the relationship between the and . Sony appears to be planning to debut its new image sensor in the CineLine first. This implies that after the FX8’s release, the may launch new Alpha cameras featuring a full 3:2 aspect ratio 96-megapixel sensor.

Sony Electronics Inc. has recently announced two new protective accessories designed for dependable performance in demanding field conditions: the LCRE Series Rain Cover, available in large and small sizes and in black or white, and the LCS Lens Soft Carrying Case Series for super-telephoto and telephoto lenses. Engineered for outdoor creators, the new accessories offer fast setup, robust environmental protection, and carry-ready portability for a wide range of Sony Alpha™ system users.

The LCRE Series Rain Cover provides extended weather resistance with a breathable, water-repellent material that helps protect cameras and lenses during rain or snow. Its quick-attach fastening strap enables rapid deployment when weather changes suddenly, and the integrated pouch allows for compact storage. A fitted eyepiece interface and transparent rear window support clear viewing of the EVF and LCD monitor while maintaining access to essential controls.

Complementing the rain cover, the LCS Lens Soft Carrying Case Series (LCS-LTL / LTM / LTS) is a lightweight, conical soft case designed specifically for Sony’s super-telephoto and telephoto lenses. Available in three sizes, the case features a wide double-zipper opening for easy lens removal, an internal anti-drop strap for added security, and multiple strap configurations for hand, shoulder, or crossbody carry. Its compact, protective construction helps shield lenses from dust, scratches, and impacts during transport.
