Sony a6400: Additional coverage and Preorders Started

The Sony a6400 isn’t the new high end APS-C camera that we have been waiting for, but the new AF system will be most peoples first look at Sony’s new AF system. It looks like Sony is trying to make their AF system easy and intuitive, but is this enough reason for people to buy? We will see preorders start today and if this camera is popular it will likely be sold out for a while.

Sony a6400 vs Sony a6500 vs Fujifilm X-T20 vs Fujifilm X-T3 Compared

Sony announced the Sony a6400 today and it is a big price/performance improvement over Sony’s previous offerings, but it’s still not very competitive with Fujifilm’s APS-C cameras. I know there is either an a6700 or a7000 coming from Sony soon that might compare better, but they should have announced some high-performance f/2.8 and f/1.4 glass alongside the a6400.

I’m certain Sony is going to embarrass the competition with their new AF system, but it is coming to the Sony a9/a7RIII/a7III soon enough that the a6400 won’t have any real advantages. The Sony a6400 is a very nice value for users that own APS-C/Full-Frame Sony glass, but I’m not sure that the a6400 is going to attract many new users to Sony.

Sony a6400 and Imaging Edge Additional Coverage

Sony announced the Sony a6400 today and it’s specs and price point is very impressive. I hope their new AF system lives up to the hype because it will just put Sony AF that much further ahead of everyone else since they still have the best AF around.
