New Sony Menus Are For Future Cameras Like Sony a7SIII, Sony a7RV, Sony a7IV, Sony a9III, etc…

Sony told tweakers.net that the new Sony menus won’t be coming to old cameras via firmware update because they were designed for Sony’s new chipset. It sounds like the BIONZ XR chip is substantially different from the previous BIONZ X which is featured in cameras like the Sony a9II and Sony a7RIV.

I’m pretty sure Sony could do it if they wanted to so it might be worth the community applying some pressure, but Sony generally doesn’t dedicate resources to improving their cameras after launch. The only major improvement I can think of that Sony has offered is real-time AF which was a big deal, but they haven’t offered much before or since and the cameras that received the update all use the same chipset.

Godox Firmware Updates Released For X2T-S, AD1200Pro, and Godox G3 For OSX Catalina

Godox released firmware 1.1 for its X2T-S trigger. It features the following changes:

  1. Address the issue that X2 trigger sometimes may not quickly respond when users are adjusting the parameters on APP.
  2. To reset the Bluetooth password to the initial value when restoring the factory default

New Sony Interchangeable Lens Camera Spotted

Nokishita previously leaked the WW850128 here, but we now have a new more detailed registration with a battery type NP-FZ100 which could hint at a Sony a7IV.

Sony’s interchangeable lens camera “WW850128” has also been registered at Taiwan NCC. Equipped with Wi-Fi (11a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth. Battery is NP-FZ100, USB is Type-C. The SD card is installed during the certification test with the single card slot. (WW71448 for α7S III)
