Sigma has an upcoming announcement coming August 4th that is almost certainly going to be the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports.

  • lens configuration of 25 elements in 15 groups
  • a minimum shooting distance of 58cm-280cm
  • a maximum shooting magnification of 1: 2.9 (at 180mm)
  • 9 aperture blades (at 180mm)
  • (Circular aperture)
  • filter size φ95mm
  • size φ109.4×263.6mm
  • weight 2100g (including tripod mount)
  • teleconverter (TC-1411 / TC-2011) seems to be compatible.
  • The US price should be around $1673.80 to $1807.38 based on foreign pricing, but it could be as low as $1,199.

Sony Curved Sensor Patent Granted

Sony has been talking about curved sensors for a while now, but they were only recently granted a patent for a curved sensor design. The Sony RX1 series of cameras hasn’t been updated in a while and could be a great camera to show off curved sensor tech since it works best with fixed focal length lenses.

Profoto A1X Firmware C11 Released

Profoto recently released firmware C11 for the Profoto A1X which seems to just bring the firmware version in line with the rest fo the lineup since the release notes only have changes for Nikon and Canon, but these kinds of updates generally have minor bug fixes in them too so make sure you download the update from Profoto

Sony ZV-E10 Launching Tomorrow 10am EST

Sony was originally supposed to launch the Sony ZV-E10 on July 7th, but the launch was delayed on short notice without being rescheduled until now. Sony’s official camera announcement is all we have had to go by and now we know that the Sony ZV-E10 will be announced tomorrow at 10am.
