This is part 2 of Philip Bloom’s big video auto focus shoot out between 10 cameras. In Part one Bloom started off with some pretty typical tests, before trying an impossible test and giving up. The Sony’s all do very well, but so do the dual pixel focus Canon’s. Part 2 is a little more realistic with some windup toy tests, which the cameras handle well, but not the adapted lenses. In this video Philip Bloom tests the
- Sony a7RII
- Canon EOS-1D X Mark II
- Sony a6300 (a6500 is the latest version, but it came out after he did the test)
- Sony a7S II
- Panasonic G85
- Sony AX53
- Samsung NX1
He also added adapters
On the Sonys he uses the
- Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2
- Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8
- Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8
- Sony 24mm f/1.8 ZA
- Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS
- Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM
- Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
I wish he included the Fujifilm X-T2 in the test, but he hasn’t done a lot of Fujifilm work in the past. I can’t wait to see part three.
