Rokinon AF 14-24mm f/2.8 Preorders Started With Two Very Different Prices Indicating a $200 Tariff

Rokinon AF 14-24mm f/2.8: B&H Photo / Amazon

The Rokinon AF 14-24mm f/2.8 has shown up for preorder, and let me say DO NOT DELAY IF YOU WANT ON ORDER FROM B&H PHOTO NOW, because they tend to honor the listed price, and it might just save you $200. This lens has been known as the Schneider Kreuznach × LK Samyang 14-24mm f/2.8, and it is a solid lens, as you can see below in Richard Wong’s review, but that is the boring part. The interesting part is that the B&H Photo listed the lens for $1,199.

While Amazon has the lens listed for $1,499, sold by Amazon.com for $200 more!

This price differential might give us a good look at how Trump’s tariffs are impacting the price of things coming from China, with the price difference here being 16.7%, which could be the pre-tariff/post-tariff price, or it could represent B&H Photo having superior sourcing. Another option could be someone eating some of the cost in the supply chain, but we do not have enough transparency to tell.

While Trump’s tariffs are in effect, I would highly recommend that you check all of your major purchases across multiple sites to make sure you are getting the best price you can, because $200 is a lot of money to throw away if you do not have to. Of course, you can always trust that I will check and report pricing errors or differences in advance of posting.
