Sony a6300 Overheating Solved

There are now two reports that firmware 1.10 has addressed the Sony a6300‘s overheating issue. So shooting 4k for up to 30 minutes should be problem free under normal conditions.

Sony a6300 Firmware Update to Address Temperature Issues

Sony isn’t making any extraordinary claims of entirely fixing the a6300’s overheating issues, but it might make the camera work better under normal shooting conditions. We will have to wait and see. You can download the update here.

Video Bitrate Explained

Many photographers are venturing into videography, but don’t fully understand how/why bitrate relates to video quality. This is a strait forward introductory video I found to help explain how video compression works from 200KB through 32,000KB a second while touching on inter frame compression. Some modern cameras can record well above these rates, but internet transmission will remain a barrier for sometime to come with 4k and 8k around the corner.
