Cinima5D Interviews Sigma’s CEO

Sigma has committed a lot of resources to Sony recently thanks to their forward thinking CEO. Now they might try to compete with Sony video cameras and more, beyond just producing Cine lenses for professionals. Mr. Kazuto Yamaki also thinks that producing more innovative lenses will cause people to buy more lenses again, which could get interesting. Maybe we will see some reasonably priced f/2 zoom lenses from someone other than Olympus.

DXO: Sony a6500 Sensor Review

DXO reviewed the Sony a6500 and it should be no surprise that it uses the same exact sensor as the Sony a6300. In fact they are so similar that a simple EXIF edit is all that was needed to open RAW files from the a6500 in unsupported editors.

With the new Sony A6500 mirrorless hybrid featuring the same 24.2Mp APS-C sensor as its predecessor, the A6300, it’s no surprise that the two cameras offer almost identical image quality results. Both are top-performing hybrid options, with class-leading scores for hybrid APS-C sensors in all categories, and both offer exceptional image quality at the lower end of the ISO sensitivity range. For landscape, portrait, architectural, and street photographers, or for photojournalists looking for a small, compact, and convenient hybrid camera solution that offers great results up to ISO 1600, the A6500 is an excellent choice.
