Sony a7RIII Reviews, Hands-on, Really Right Stuff Base Plate and a7RII or a7RIII

As the coverage of the Sony a7RIII increases and the release date gets closer we are getting a better idea of how it is improved over the Sony a7RII. For many, the biggest improvement is the new Z batteries and almost everyone is saying that the a7RIII is a9 quick which would be amazing. I really liked the a9, but it was just too fast and I am still editing photos from my time with it because it caused me to way overshoot. The a7RIII should keep me within the responsible range that I am used to dealing with. Further, it sounds like Sony has improved the a7RIII as a studio camera, by adding a sync port and modern high-speed connectivity, in addition to advanced flash customization features. The Sony a7RIII sounds like it will be at home shooting whatever you want. Not to mention 4k HDR video in camera.

Rokinon AF 35mm f/1.4 AF Discounted $100

The Rokinon AF 35mm f/1.4 AF is currently on sale for $100 off on Amazon only. This lens is so new that there aren’t any real reviews out for it yet, but there is a comparison video with the Rokinon AF 35m 2.8 that you can see below. The AF seems in Video seems decent, but I wish exposure was better for judging image quality from the short clip.

TCSTV: Sony DSC-R1 Unsung Cameras of Yesteryear

The Camera Store TV published a throwback episode of one of the first mirrorless cameras the Sony DSC-R1. This was a pretty exceptional camera, featuring an APS-C sensor and waste level style viewfinder LCD that many would love to have today. They are actually still available today used on Amazon for a very reasonable price if you really want a digital waste level viewfinder camera and I have to say I find the colors very pleasing compared to modern Sony colors. Maybe Sony can build a modern DSC-R1 with a full frame sensor and superzoom like the RX10. That would be an incredibly interesting camera to own.
