Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 II Lens Announced

Sainsonic announced a new Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 II APS-C mirrorless lens that replaces their previous version. The Taiwanese company plans to launch a full-frame mirrorless lenses for E-mount in the future too.

In the interview with the Taipei Photographic Equipment Exhibition, I accidentally shook this booth. A lens brand I have never seen before, after chatting with the boss, I realized that this is a lens brand from Taiwan. From optical technology, lens to lens design and assembly, all are made by Kamlan. Independently completed, because Kamlan’s current factory is located in China, many people will mistakenly think that this is a Chinese brand. In fact, the boss behind it is a native of Yilan. Next year, it will set up a factory in Yilan Science Park to supply the needs of Japanese and Taiwanese consumers. Kamlan focuses on the lens of the APS-C mirrorless interchangeable camera. In the future, it will launch the “full-frame” MILC lens. The target includes FE-Mount, Z-mount and RF-Mount, and will be edited in the future. This brand will be further introduced. Sigma 40mm f 1.4 DG HSM and 56mm F 1.4 DC DN Preorders Start as Predicted

The Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary (B&H Photo / Adorama) and Sigma 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art (B&H Photo / Adorama) are now available for preorder as predicted.

Sigma 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art
The 40mm F1.4 DG HSM Art is Sigma’s first lens developed originally to live up to the sought-after angle of view and performance standard for a benchmark cine lens. This lens effectively arranges three FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements to correct axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration. Designed for exceptional sharpness at maximum aperture, this lens excels at available light photography. With less than 1% distortion and near non-existent sagittal coma flare, this lens demonstrates consistent optical results featuring both 8K-compatible resolution and a beautiful bokeh. It is available for Sigma, Nikon, Canon and Sony E mount camera systems. Full technical specifications are available here: https://bit.ly/2QHliC5.

Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary
This lens completes the Sigma large aperture series of portable wide-angle, standard, and telephoto prime lenses in Micro Four Thirds and Sony E mounts. Featuring compact design, light weight and outstanding image quality offered in Sigma’s Contemporary line, this lens stuns with a beautiful bokeh effect and the amount of brightness expected from F1.4 lenses even in the mid-telephoto range for cropped sensor cameras. In addition, this lens is characterized by smooth and quiet autofocus ideal for video shooting. Compatible with the Sony E mount Fast Hybrid AF, it also achieves precise AF tracking. By using the face recognition or eye AF functions of the camera, focus will continuously be on the face or the eye even if the subject moves during the shoot. Full technical specifications are available here: https://bit.ly/2PLuSTh.

New Apple iPad Pro Features The Sony a7III to Advertise USB-C Connectivity for Cameras and More

The Sony a7III is featured on Apple’s page to advertise the new iPad Pro’s connectivity features and it’s interesting how much they are marketing it as a portable computer replacement now. I really like my current iPad Pro 12.9 and was planning to use it for editing with Adobe Lightroom, but Adobe’s expensive cloud storage drove me away for now. I hope Adobe starts pricing their online storage reasonably because at this time they have the best workflow for iOS devices.

If you want to learn more about the product’s launched today B&H Photo has a good wrap up.
