We just announced the event on September 15th and now Nokishita has leaked some additional details about what is likely the Sony a7C that might come in two different color variant kits.
Sony’s new products scheduled to start reservations next week that are currently registered at retailers in France are “α7 series body 1” “α7 series body 2” “α7 series kit 1” “α7 series kit 2” “E mount lens” ” 6 products of “flash for camera”. 1 and 2 are probably color variations. The flash seems to be HVL-F28RM.

We should hear about Sony’s new full-frame camera that has been called the Sony a7C, a5, and a6 by some. If we got by DIYphotography’s leak than it looks like Sony might be trying to increase their price point since DIY is saying slightly above $2,000, which is above the launch price of the Sony a7III.

The Sony Zeiss Batis 40 mm f/2 CF isn’t a new lens from Zeiss for E-mount, but lenstips is just getting around to testing the lens and it does not disappoint for the price. 40mm is kind of an odd focal length, but many love it over 35mm/50mm. below you can see some details about the review, but you can read the full review here.
“The Zeiss Batis 2/40 CF is an expensive lens, with a price tag of $1100 but if you want and can spend that much you won’t regret your decision. The tested lens will repay you with a truly sensational image quality.
To sum up in all testing categories the results of the Batis were good or simply excellent. It brushed against resolution records and, basically, had just one flaw. It’s quite enough to award it our editorial office award – a round of applause!”
Sony started to add post-recording stabilization using gyroscopic data to their line up which started with cameras like the Sony FX9 and later became available in the RX0, ZV-1, and a7SIII. It’s an interesting technology that could show up in other cameras with a firmware update later since stabilized cameras all work pretty much the same way, but I think the crop might convince some to stay away from the tech and instead of us IBIS and post-digital stabilization instead which is getting better all the time, but not quite perfect yet.
To use this technology you have to use a high shutter speed and turn off IBIS. From there you have to use catalyst to stabilize the footage. The software will over stabilize and crop tightly, but you can zoom it out until you reach a level that makes you comfortable and maintains resolution. It is also interesting that gimbal plus gyrostabilization looks very similar to using a gimbal and steady shot together.
