Capture One Express Discontinued January 30, 2024

Capture One Express is being discontinued according to an email recently sent out and they are pushing a subscription model hard now. If you want to buy a perpetual Capture One Pro license you can do so here. There are also other options we recommend below and of course, there is always Lightroom.

TTArtisan 56mm f/1.8 Auto Focus

TTArtisan 56mm f/1.8 Auto Focus lens has been announced on weibo. It should be available soon on their Amazon web store.

Mingjiang Optics released a new AF 56mm F1.8 lens, with an equivalent full-frame 84mm viewing angle, a structure of 10 elements in 9 groups, 9 aperture blades, a minimum focusing distance of 0.5m, a 52mm filter interface, and the lens body is made of metal Material, weighing about 233 grams, equipped with Fuji X, Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, initially priced at only 859. This lens is the fourth autofocus lens of Mingjiang Optics. It has previously launched three automatic lenses: AF 32mm F2.8, AF27mm F2.8, and AF35mm F1.8.

Sony Compact 26mm F2.8 and 27mm F2.8 Patents Found

Sony recently filed some patents for what appear to not be very exciting lens designs. I wasn’t even going to share them until I noticed that asobinet pointed out that these designs are very compact for full-frame lenses so it looks like Sony is making some additional advancements in their designs to bring lens sizes down further. Lets hope these design advancements are applied to more interesting f/1.4, f/1.2, and f/1.0 lenses in the future.
