Today, Cosina has decided to release the NOKTON 50mm F1 Aspherical, an interchangeable lens exclusively for Sony E-mount, on March 19, 2024, which was announced on February 15, 2024.

Two Autofocus Lenses Coming From 7Artisans

7Artisans was supposed to announce the 7Artisans AF 50mm f/1.8 last December and some sites reported that it did launch, but it never became available in the United States if it did, because I have been looking for it for months now and there is no sign of the lens on their Amazon shop or website. Now asobinet is reporting that 7Artisans is working on a second Autofocus lens that might be slightly wider. Maybe we will see both lenses simultaneously in the US if we ever get them.

JJC Quick Release Plate for AirTag

JJC released an Arca Swiss quick-release plate with room for an AirTag on Amazon. It is similar to the SmallRig AirTag Generic Base Plate, but it attaches with a finger screw instead of a hex bolt so no tool is needed to attach it or remove it from the camera, which saves you a few dollars.

SHOTEN L095-SE for CANON 50mm f/0.95 L39 Announced

Shoten released the SHOTEN L095-SE lens adapter especially designed for the CANON 50mm F0.95 / L39 mount lens.

SHOTEN’s “L095-SE” is a mount conversion adapter for attaching “CANON 50mm F0.95”, which was developed as a lens for Canon’s 7-inch rangefinder, to a Sony E-mount camera. Can also be attached to L39 screw mount lenses. The mounting surface uses brass parts made of highly durable and highly rigid material to achieve high precision installation.

  • Turn the tightening ring on the lens mount clockwise when looking from the mount side.
  • Align the red dots on the lens and adapter.
  • Turn the tightening ring counterclockwise to secure the lens.

  • The setting hierarchy for “Release without lens” may differ depending on the camera model. Please refer to the instruction manual for each camera and make the settings.
Notes
  • When attaching the CANON 50mm F0.95, the space between the lens and the grip may become narrow, making it difficult to hold the camera. Also, the focus and aperture indicators are fixed at diagonal positions, just like when attached to the Canon 7 model.
  • When attaching an L39 mount lens, due to the nature of the screw mount, the focus and aperture indicators may not be placed in the correct position.
  • When using a retractable lens, do not retract it while it is attached to the camera.
  • Due to individual differences in lenses, changes in shape over time, changes in shape due to damage, etc., the fit may differ from normal (firmness, looseness, slight play, etc.), or the lens may not be able to be worn.
