Sony a9: Profoto A1, Sony 100-400mm, vs Canon 1DX Mark2, vs iPhone 8 Plus, Weddings, and More

The Profoto A1’s dual functionality as a flash trigger and flash is a compelling reason to invest in the system, but Sony shooters will have to wait until 2018 for full compatibility. Some Sony shooters are using the A1 completely manually at this time and whether they picked the Canon or Nikon it should work with the Profoto Sony trigger fully at some point in the future, but for now, there is no HSS or TTL functionality. When the Sony edition is released it will pair great with the Sony a9.
