Lens Rentals is Testing The Sigma MC-11 Lens Adapter

Sigma MC 11

Lens Rentals has come to the conclusion that the Sigma MC-11 is a better option than an equivalent MetaBones adapter for professional work after a short period of initial testing. According to Lens Rentals all of the Canon glass they tried worked fine with the Sigma MC-11 while experiencing minimal limitations. This is a bit surprising, but I trust their analysis, because they are one of the few private organizations big enough to test for issues like reliability and lens variation.

20% off ONA bags

ONA-bag-collection-sale-560x224
ONA is running a 20% off sale at the moment if you’re looking to pick up a bag. You can take advantage of the savings at B&H Photo or Adorama, but many of the authorized ONA retailers on Amazon have already sold out of their discounted bags. I currently own the Berlin II and decided to give The Hamilton a try because of this sale.

Expanding Your Mind With IR… Video…

A few weeks ago I did a post on Fuji Addict about IR photography and I have been wanting to try something similar, with my Sony cameras, but now I think I’m going to try an IR video project. Philip Bloom assembled two (1,2) inspiring articles on IR/video that are a good read if you are looking for a project to get your creative juices flowing. Bloom’s modified full spectrum Sony RX100 IV captures some amazingly haunting images the make me want to modify my Original RX100. Without modification most modern digital cameras have some level of IR sensitivity, which can be seen with a quality R-72 Infrared Filter, but full spectrum is superior if you’re serious about IR.
