DC.watch has a preview of the JBcamera base for the Sony A7II, it is one of the nicer wood grips on the market due to its snug fit, soft surfaces, and ability to change batteries. It is currently available to order on Amazon.
There’s a lot of interests in the Laowa Zero-D 12mm f/2.8 coming July 30th at 7 pm EST and the first review is already out. Sony Alphauniverse has an informative tutorial on high-frame rate underwater video available. On their page they explain how to get accurate colors out of the Sony RX100 IV with a Fantasea Line Housing. They also offer a variety of preset camera settings that you can try and an explanation of what to think about when choosing your frame rate. This article is worth a read for anyone that likes to film in and around water.
Mirrorless cameras have the reputation of being smaller/lighter than DSLRs, but are they really? John compiled a few lists of comparable Sony, Canon, Nikon and Pentax lenses to find out. At this time it seems only mirrorless bodies offer a size/weight advantage, while lens designs are fixed in size, when covering a comparable sensor size.
