Kai covered the launch of the a6600 and a6100 in his typical style, but he seems to get stuck on just how good real-time autofocus performs. Hopefully, Sony will start to discontinue some of the confusingly named cameras they have out there with the a6xxx series, because as of right now the a6100 and a6600 are the only two seriously worth considering and maybe the a6400.

Viltrox has a lot of AF lenses coming soon for E Mount and they should start showing up in October if all goes well, according to Viltrox. Viltrox also has a trial program that will allow you to try a lens for two weeks before you buy. To take advantage of the offer you will need to email [email protected].
The Viltrox 85mm has been almost universally praised for its value even when compared to lenses 2-3x its price so Viltrox is probably looking to get the lens in more photographers hands since many are not familiar with the brand and its 85mm today.

Sony has another event planned for October 12th and 13th in Tokyo. The event page says the event is for Sony’s new APS-C cameras and the a7RIV, but there could be some announcements. Sony fans are patiently awaiting the Sony a7SIII and a9II, but no one is really sure when these cameras will be announced. I imagine Sony will prioritize the a9II since Nikon has the D6 coming, but Sony should also answer the Panasonic S1H soon too.

We already covered the upcoming Sony IFA Press Conference that will take place on September 5th, but there is also IBC 2019 coming September 13th.
