Sony a9II: The Best Camera For Sports and Photo Journalism

The Sony a9II is the king of spray and pray photography allowing photographers to easily capture thousands of images in RAW during a single day of shooting. Shooting any a9 camera is a unique experience and I really enjoyed my time with one, but you have to be able to manage thousands of images efficiently to really benefit from one. The a9II isn’t for everyone, but it is currently the best camera on the market for photographers that can’t risk missing the decisive moment.

Rumiere Noct-Master APO 75mm f/0.95 For Sony E-Mounts

Adam Werton posted photos of the Rumiere Noct-Master APO 75mm f/0.95 last month. Well, Photorumors is reporting that the lens is the Nisi 75mm f/0.95 that was reported last year here.

Photorumors also believes that this lens might have some issues since Nikonrumors reported that Nikon trademarked Noct for the Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95, but Noct-Master might skirt any legal infringement. It seems like companies will try to protect just about anything today, but very few enforce these kinds of protections.

Sony a9II Introduction Videos

Some are disappointed with the Sony a9II announcement because there was a lot of hype on some sites, but the a9II shows that Sony was really pushing the limits of mirrorless cameras with the original Sony a9. The Sony a9II is a pretty good incremental upgrade, but a discounted Sony a9 might be a better value.

It would have been nice if Sony included some of the Sony a7RIV improvements in the Sony a9II, but the additional weather resistance will certainly be welcome by sports photographers. Sony isn’t exactly known for its weather sealing yet.
