Samyang AF 75mm F1.8: B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama
We leaked the Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 last week and it was announced last night along with its first review from ePhotozine. It looks like Samyang has another winner with the only con for this lens being its lack of weather sealing. Check out the full review for additional details and measurements or look below for the summary.
“As for performance, this is just exemplary, the Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 FE is an outstanding lens indeed. Along with a moderate, realistic price tag, compact size and great handling, the only caveat is the lack of sealing against water and dust. This still leaves us with a superb lens and an obvious Editor’s Choice.”

Glittering round light that can be stored because it is a specialized lens
Large and beautiful Bokeh that can’t be stored on a smartphone is completed by sophisticated optical simulation. After years of research on shape, color, frame and axial chromatic aberration, experience the best beautifully designed bokeh directly.
Surprisingly small optics
Sanyo’s unique technology has put everything in a simple optical system consisting of 10 elements in 7 groups. The three low-dispersion lenses (ED) that applied Achromat effectively control chromatic aberration, and realized the small size of Ø65x69mm by using the high refractive index lens (HR) with excellent refractive index. It also has a UMC coating to minimize internal reflections and provide a clear image with high contrast.
AF System that has developed one step further
AF has finally upgraded to a technology that considers video, not just a tool for still images. The newly researched and developed STM (Stepping Motor) controls the larger and heavier focus lens group quietly and precisely for excellent image quality.
Fun with both hands
The Custom Switch is mounted on the aperture ring so that the photographer can feel the fun of shooting more easily and intuitively. The Custom Switch, which inherits the operability of traditional camera lenses, can add various functions via firmware updates, and you can enjoy the shooting mode that suits your taste.
