Godox R200

Macro To Go or Model to Stay
The Godox R200 Ring Flash Head for the AD200 system is a 200ws flash head designed explicitly for the Godox AD200 interchangeable head, lithium-powered system, optimized to meet the vision of the ever-innovative creative professional photographer. This versatile ringflash head option for the AD200 is an instant favorite tool of the professional studio photographer. Its ability to produce virtually shadow-free lighting while providing mysterious catchlights in the subject’s eyes, when used for fashion and portrait work, makes it a prime-time necessity. A ‘must-have’ for nature and field shooters in macro and close-up situations. Combined with a remote R2 transmitter and the handy shoulder case, the ring light shines past any contender to become the Lord of the Ring Flash.

Macro photography has a new and exciting tool in the challenge of capturing details and lush images of everything from buzzing bees on flowers to leaping lizards or frolicking models. The Godox R200 200ws Ring Flash Head for the AD200 system is the most flexible DSLR circular bracket-mounted device in the world. A complete package to forever alter the concept of revealing the minuscule, the fleeting twinkle in the subject’s eye, or the proverbial elusive butterfly. All the benefits of the classic ring flash: Shadow-free lighting, the beautiful catchlight, mysterious halo at will, with LED modeling preview all the while. The circular photographic flash has been the light of choice for medical and dental photography, where exquisite detail emanating from the ring of light is not compromised by harsh off-axis flash.

Go ahead of the Pack
Many ring flashes offer tight design integration at the sacrifice of power. Others have sufficient power but are not physically practical for location photography in the wild. The R200 Ring Flash from Godox brings it all together for the no-nonsense shooter with the small world on their mind. TTL exposure automation through the proven resources of the wireless R2 TTL radio family and precise Manual settings. Even striking Multi-Mode, multiple exposures on one frame to capture the sequential beating of feathered wings hovering or the instant flick of a reptilian sticky tongue capturing prey. The Godox AD200 family utilizes interchangeable lithium battery packs that are lightweight and transportable. The unique jack-of-all-trades flash head of the famous flash makes the miracle happen. A simple clip and lock of the R200 Ring Flash cable into the head socket, and you’re in business, to shoot shadow-free and rapidly catch the expressive mood.

Go You One Better
The Godox R200 200ws Ring Flash Head for the AD200 system provides a sturdy mounting for almost any camera or tripod-based, hands-free studio set-ups. The option means besides being used on-camera with the included, fully adjustable folding camera bracket, the unit employs off-camera with or without an umbrella using the easily affixed umbrella bracket.

Go for the Golden Ring
This rugged 200ws flash head for the AD200 can light beautifully – whether for macro detail, fashion excitement, portrait (for key, fill or catch light) effects, or for traditional softbox/umbrella applications with the freedom of reliable lithium energy.

Sony Maintains Large Sensor Market Share Through Innovation

Nikkei released an interesting article talking about how Sony has managed to maintain its 60% market share goal. Below are some excerpts from the article which you can read in full here.

  • The Sony Group will further enhance the functionality of image sensors used in smartphone cameras and other devices.
  • We will realize a technology that simultaneously focuses on bright and dark objects, which was difficult in the past.
  • It is difficult to shoot objects with different light and darkness, and in the past, the focus was on only one side. Sony’s new technology solves this problem.
  • Sony Semiconductor Solutions, which is in charge of the semiconductor business under the Sony Group, released a new technology called “Octa PD” to the press on the 17th. You can focus at high speed in any scene such as bright or dark places.
  • Sony’s semiconductor business is centered on CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) sensors used in cameras, etc., and has secured half of the world market share for a long time.

Moment Anamorphic 1.33x Adapter Kick Starter

We added Moment as an affiliate a while ago due to their approach to photographers and good experiences ordering from them in the past in addition to some of the unique Fujifilm swag they had which we promoted on FujiAdduct. I say this because many are not fans of Kickstarter, but Moment has decided to release their latest product via Kickstarter and it is already fully funded so you have nothing to lose by ordering from this established company. I am personally still not a fan of products being launched via Kickstarter, but this is an interesting accessory that will add a lot of value to legacy glass if you have any.

Introducing Moment Anamorphic
We’re introducing our first (of many) big camera lenses. This new Moment 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter changes your current lenses, whether vintage or modern, into a classic anamorphic lens. The quality is unmatched, it’s easier to use than anything else on the market, and it’s compatible with more lenses.  This is the best lens we’ve ever made. Read More »
