Nikon Z9 Has Sony IMX609AQJ Inside

The Nikon Z9 is certainly an impressive camera at a great price point, but it should come as no surprise that there is Sony magic inside the Nikon Z9. Pretty much all the best cameras are using Sony sensors now, but Sony still has its best sensor inside the Sony A1 at a higher price point.

Sony IMX671 Might Be The Sensor in Sony’s New High-End APS-C Camera and The Fujifilm X-H2S

A reader at FujiAddict sent in the Sony IMX671 spec sheet along with their interpretation of some features that Fujifilm hasn’t fully utilized

the X-H2s still does not unlock the full performance of this sensor, and it is possible that in future machines we will see 4K/120fps with full-width supersampling and 6.2K 60fps with OpenGate.

The sensor then supports extended ISO using a multi-frame stack for time-gap-free e-ND, a feature not yet applied on the Fujifilm X-H2s.

These video-centric features could be very useful in a future ZV APS-C camera which we just received a rumor about yesterday. The new sensor in the Fujifilm X-H2S is a beast and it wouldn’t surprise me if Sony used this sensor in their next APS-C camera with its full potential unlocked.

New APS-C Sony Camera Coming Soon?

Photorumors is reporting that Sony is rumored to announce a new APS-C ILCE camera that has a BSI stacked sensor like the Fujifilm X-H2S. The camera is reported to have five-axis stabilization with crop-free 4k/60fps and it is expected to be part of the ZV line of cameras which would be an interesting choice since stacked sensors are kind of expensive. I personally would expect to see the first APS-C BSI stacked sensor in a camera like an a7000, but we will see if the rumor pans out.
