Capture One For iPad Tethering Announced

Capture One for iPad 1.1.0 was released the other day on the appstore with support for wired and wireless tethering. According to what I can find online, support for this feature should be identical to the computer, so if you can tether your camera to the computer, you can tether it to the iPad. Supported Sony cameras can be utilized with a wire connection using the apple camera adapter or wirelessly.

What’s New
Version 1.1.0

  • You can now shoot tethered directly via USB cable or Wi-Fi
  • Remotely trigger a capture from your iPad with our first shutter button iteration
  • Automatically apply the same adjustments to all tethered photos by enabling the “Next Capture Adjustments” toggle
  • Change the Fujifilm simulation of your Fujifilm RAW files from the dedicated tool
  • Export Originals and TIFF files
  • Use Auto Adjust to quickly edit your images
  • Change the Wheel and “Quick Edit” sliding directions in the app’s Gestures & Shortcuts section within the Settings page
  • Get tips on how to use the gesture interactions with our new Onboarding view
  • Other bug fixes and improvements

DPRTV: Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD A Very Unique Well Designed Lens

DPRTV published their review of the Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD, and Tamron has another winner on its hands. Below is a summary of the review above:

  • Tamron 50-400mm has a little bit of bulk at 1150g/2.5bs or half a noct
  • The lens is well-balanced and rugged
  • Manual focus ring is a little loose
  • Weather resistance
  • Customizable button and vibration control
  • 67mm filter diameter
  • Option for a tripod collar
  • Very unique lens that covers normal to telephoto
  • The only similar lens was from sigma the 50-500mm that was very big and heavy unlike Tamron’s 50-400mm lens
  • There are some compromises, like a slow aperture range
  • This lens is great if you do not mind pushing up the ISO
  • Very well-controlled flare
  • This lens even does macro well, and the close working distance is within the hood at 50mm with a lot more working distance at 400mm
  • Some cats eyes in the corners until you stop down to f/8
  • Bokeh transition is energetic but smooth
  • Very sharp across the frame at 50mm without much improvement from stopping down
  • Very sharp across the frame at 400mm without much improvement from stopping down
  • This lens is very unique and well designed
