Viltrox Announcement Coming Later This Month

Viltrox is teasing an announcement for the end of August that is likely the Viltrox AF 56mm f/1.2 Pro that we have known about for a bit. The Viltrox 56mm f/1.2 Pro will be for Fuji X, Sony E, and Nikon Z mounts.

There is also a new rumor that Viltrox will announce a new ultra-wide-angle autofocus lens that could also be announced by the end of August, but if it is not we will hear about it before the end of 2025. The lens is expected to be wider than the new Sigma 12mm f/1.4.

Sony a7M2x2 48MP 72x24mm Camera

Snappiness published a camera mode he is attempting to use with two Sony a7M2 to create a 72x24mm image using a 3d printer, and he almost succeeds, but his mirror placement ended up being a little off. At first he created a 36x48mm image by putting the cameras on the adapter sideways, but then he flipped them around to get 72x24mm. Since he was unable to get the mirrors to alight properly only one of the cameras was able to capture sharp images, but maybe we will see a new, improved adapter in the future with better mirror placement.

I captured some images from the video for closer viewing below:

Lens features:

Professional telephoto lens for demanding applications
The Sigma 200mm F2 DG OS Sports lens is designed for sports, nature, and portrait photographers who require exceptional optical quality and reliability in all conditions. Thanks to its fast f/2 aperture and advanced optical design, it delivers excellent sharpness, contrast, and color reproduction, even in challenging lighting conditions.

Fast F2 aperture – unlimited creativity
The f/2 aperture allows you to achieve beautiful background blur (bokeh) and work in low light without having to raise the ISO. This is especially important in sports and nature photography, where quick reaction time and the ability to capture decisive moments are crucial.

Advanced optical system
The lens is constructed with the highest quality optical elements, including FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) and SLD (Special Low Dispersion) lenses, which minimize chromatic aberrations and ensure excellent sharpness from the center to the edges of the frame.

OS optical stabilization
The OS (Optical Stabilizer) system enables stable handheld photography even at longer exposure times, which is especially important at a 200 mm focal length.

Fast and precise autofocus
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) used in combination with the AF algorithm ensures lightning-fast, quiet and accurate focusing, both in photography and video.

Durable, sealed construction
The Sports series guarantees the highest durability – the lens is dust and splash resistant, and hydrophobic coatings protect against water, dust and fingerprints.

Compatibility with teleconverters
The lens is compatible with Sigma teleconverters, allowing you to increase the focal length to 280 mm (with TC-1401) or 400 mm (with TC-2001) while maintaining high image quality.
