Sony RX100III Discontinued After 8 Years of Production

The Sony RX100 Mark 3 is only just now being discontinued in Asia after its release in 2014. The Sony RX100III refresh was the first to include a pop-up OLED EVF which was previously an accessory for Sony’s multi-interface hotshoe and it caused the removal of Sony’s multi-interface hotshoe.

Surprisingly B&H Photo and Adorama still have new Sony RX100III cameras available and Amazon seems to have some used/refurbished ones left. I still use my original RX100 for concerts and events that will not allow “professional cameras”, and does quite well even in low light.

Viltrox AF56mm F1.7 E,
Viltrox AF135mm F1.8 E,

In terms of cameras, Sony will release a number of new cameras. The ZV-E10 II camera will be released in the spring of 2024 and will be available in the summer.
A new FX movie camera may be released in January and February (99% accuracy)
A new ZV-E10 II camera may be released in the spring (90% probability)
A7S4 camera may be released in the second half of 2024 (60% probability)
Late summer 2024 A new E-mount video camera will be released (90% chance).
A new A1 II may be released in November 2024 (60% chance).
