Sony RX100III Discontinued After 8 Years of Production

The Sony RX100 Mark 3 is only just now being discontinued in Asia after its release in 2014. The Sony RX100III refresh was the first to include a pop-up OLED EVF which was previously an accessory for Sony’s multi-interface hotshoe and it caused the removal of Sony’s multi-interface hotshoe.

Surprisingly B&H Photo and Adorama still have new Sony RX100III cameras available and Amazon seems to have some used/refurbished ones left. I still use my original RX100 for concerts and events that will not allow “professional cameras”, and does quite well even in low light.

“PDT-FP1” is a wireless communication device specialized for video and still image transmission using high-speed mobile data communication. Supports a wide range of bands *1 including overseas and supports dual SIM, allowing flexible operation both domestically and internationally. In addition, by completing the transfer of shooting data from the camera* 2 to this unit, you can transfer the data recorded on this unit even when you are moving and the camera is not activated. In addition, by connecting to a camera, live streaming via this unit is also possible.
At press photo shoots, the data captured by cameras is transferred to FTP servers, etc. using high-speed and stable 5G communication, reducing the time it takes to transfer data and create and distribute content. At the shooting site of broadcast video, relaying via wireless communication and transfer of shooting data files becomes possible, increasing the degree of freedom in camera work and contributing to the simplification of equipment settings. At filming locations where remote shooting is required, the production workflow can be made more efficient by quickly transmitting shooting data to content creators located in remote locations. For video distribution creators, by outputting video shot with a camera *2 via USB streaming, stable wireless communication enables YouTube ™ distribution and video data file transfer, eliminating restrictions on shooting and distribution locations.

Godox V1 Pro Review – Fixes More Than Thermal Protection Mode

Godox V1Pro: B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama

The Godox V1 was a very popular flash that provided a lot of bang for the buck, but it had some thermal issues that are now solved in the Godox V1 Pro. The Gofox V1 Pro doesn’t enter thermal protection mode as quickly as the V1, but Godox also improved other aspects of the flash.

One aspect of improvement that hasn’t been widely discussed is that Godox corrected the green color cast of the original V1 providing a perfectly neutral flash. Godox also added a USB-C port to the battery for charging and a TT960 battery pack port for about 900 full-powered flashes. The Godo V1 Pro also has a flash on flash the Godox SU1 which is powered by the V1.
