TAMRON lens firmware update improved AF tracking performance and AF Assist function 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD (Model A047) and 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) for Sony E-mount
September 17, 2024, Saitama, Japan – Tamron Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Shogo Sakuraba; Headquarters: Saitama City), a leading manufacturer of optics for diverse applications, announces a new firmware update scheduled on September 17, 2024, for TAMRON 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD (Model A047) and 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) for Sony E-mount.

With this new firmware update, the AF tracking performance has significantly improved, and will now keep good track of a moving object. Also, AF Assist function during video recording is now supported.

Blazar 35mm T1.6 and Blazar 50mm T1.8 1.33x Full Frame Anamorphic AF Cinema Lenses

Blazar showed off new Blazar 35mm T1.6 and Blazar 50mm T1.8 1.33x anamorphic Full Frame autofocus lenses for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fuji X mount cameras. These lenses will be available in December for around $1,000.

Pros:
solid and weather-sealed mechanical construction,
brilliant image quality in the frame centre up from the maximum relative aperture,
very good image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,
good image quality on the edge of full frame,
very good correction of longitudinal chromatic aberration,
negligible lateral chromatic aberration,
practically zero distortion,
low astigmatism,
out-of-focus areas pleasing to the eye,
slight vignetting on the APS-C sensor,
moderate breathing,
fast, silent, and accurate autofocus.
Cons:
significant vignetting on full frame.
