In short, it is a more compact, lighter, slightly faster lens that improves the telephoto range ever so slightly. mobile01 believes bokeh hasn’t changed, but if you look at their samples it does seem to have improved ever so slightly. The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is an incremental improvement of an already great lens and you should be happy with either the new or original design.
