The release of the Sony a6600 was a big step up for Sony NEX APS-C fans, but it only just barely matched the Fujifilm X-T3 while coming in at a better price point. Now things have changed and the Fujifilm X-T3 is currently selling at a price point closer to the Sony a6600 with the announcement of the Fujifilm X-T4.
If Sony is serious about challenging Fujifilm in the APS-C market then we might see an IM671AQR based Sony a7000 in the not too distant future. The problem is that as Sony’s price point creeps up it might cause some issues with their a7 line of cameras, which are already an incredible value so I am not confident we will see a true competitor to Fujifilm’s flagship APS-C cameras, which largely go after Sony’s a7 line.
