Sony Makes Canikon Reality By Accident: The Dr. Frankenstein Canon/Nikon AF Adapter by Techart

When the Techart Sony E to Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter was announced I wondered if it would be possible to use a Canon EF to E-Mount adapter in conjunction with the Techart… It turns out you can! It’s been demoed with an old discontinued Techart EF to E-Mount adapter that most of us forgot about because it didn’t work well, but there is more good news you can use the excellent Sigma MC-11 according to Richard Wong!

It’s unlikely any company involved intended for this to work, but thanks to Sony’s open mount Canon and Nikon are talking after all these years. Of course, there will be issues and this might cause issues with your hardware so try at your own risk, but maybe tech art will make another E to EF mount adapter in the future designed with this ability in mind. This development makes the Nikon Z mount the most adaptable mount on the market for the time being.

Adapters you might want to try are:
Sigma MC-11
Metabones T Smart Adapter
Metabones T CINE Smart Adapter
KIPON Autofocus Lens Mount Adapter
KIPON Mark 3 Neutral Density Autofocus Lens Mount Adapter
FotodioX Camera Pro Fusion Smart AF Adapter
FotodioX Pro Fusion Plus Smart AF Adapter
FotodioX ArtFX ColorFlare FUSION Smart AF Adapter
Vello Camera Accelerator AF Lens Adapter
Pictools Camera AF Lens Adapter
