It sounds like the Godox V1 is a huge win against the Profoto A1
- Both are hard speed lights
- Both have 9 stop range, but Godox does 9.2 while the Profoto is a little more accurate
- Both lose about 3 stops of power when doing HSS
- Profoto has a nice transition, but it’s not soft
- Godox has a smooth transition which leads to better light
- Godox light pattern has 90%+ preference in their light pattern
- Recycle time is about the same
- Profoto can retain their recycle time vs Godox will go into thermal protection mode after about 30 shot
- Godox can perform more full power flashes
- The Profoto kills the battery while in standby so the Godox battery lasts a lot longer
- The Profoto died after 90 min of standby and one flash in a test video they did
- Both have very consistent color
- Godox has a more blue color than the Profoto, but it’s more consistent
- Godox V1 is a little more powerful at it’s max output, and both have the same low power, but the V1 is faster at lower power
- Can’t make a determination about which is better built
- The magnetic modifiers work great on both
- Godox one-upped Profoto
- The only argument for the Profoto over the Godox is that you have a lot of Profoto equipment
