DXOMark: Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Highest-Rated Wide-Angle Zoom

Recently Sony has been releasing some great glass and the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM is no exception. GM lenses have been almost universally praised except for maybe the 70-200GM and nothing from Canon or Nikon is coming close to Sony’s best modern glass. Working photographers know that glass is king and it’s why so many love Leica lenses, but even Sony’s low end 16-35mm Vario-Tessar T FE F4 ZA OSS is on par with Canon’s best wide angle zoom. It’s going to be difficult for Canon and Nikon to enter the mirrorless market with Sony releasing so much superior glass since both will have to figure out new mounts and flange distances to compete. I’d really like to see how GF lenses compare to GM lenses. You can read DXO’s full review here.
