Jason Lanier really believes that the Sony a9 is going to be the greatest camera for Wedding photography ever and he gives 10 pretty good reasons why. In the video above he elaborates on his reasons in-depth and then trails off once he completes his list, which is then followed by a Q&A.
- Silent Shooting
- Shutter – High FPS\high shutter speed
- Super Buffer – Over 200 shots in RAW and 400 in JPEG
- In Body Image Stabilization
- ISO Performance
- Focus System – Touch, Eye, Facal Recognition and Registration
- No Blackout Time
- Electronic Live View Real Live View
- WiFi
- Dual Card Slots, Better Battery Life
Other Joystiq, Price…
There are a few errors in his logic about the RAW buffer and editing… Like if you shoot 200 RAW files in a row you can just pick one to use, but if you’re shooting 20 FPS then you’re going to hit the buffer pretty quickly and if you dislike Sony JPEG’s then the JPEG buffer doesn’t mean much. It kind of feels like he’s going out of his way to defend some 1st generation design flaws, but I would agree with an assertion that you can work around many of the current “limitations” easily.
