Every camera launch is different, but the first review in progress emerging from camera labs made me wonder how long photographers were given access to the Sony a9 in advance of the announcement, to make the bold statements that they have. Generally speaking a few photographers are given cameras early to prepare reviews a few weeks before launch, which are then published along with the launch.
For the launch of the Sony a9 we mainly received extremely positive impressions and now camera labs has started a review in progress. So it’s possible Sony is only just now sending cameras out to reviewers and photographers for in depth testing. This corresponds with the Thursday image embargo some have talked about. Hopefully nothing overly negative turns up during testing.
