AsahiFlex to Sony E-mount Adapter

Rayqual is producing a unique M37 screw mount adapter for AsahiFlex lenses.

Asahi Flex of Asahi Optical Co., Ltd. is the first domestically manufactured 35 mm single-lens reflex camera that appeared in 1952. The mount is a screw type with a diameter of 37 mm and is often called M37 mount. This mount, the caliber is smaller than the 39 mm of the Leica screw mount, but the flange back is the most delicate specification of 45.5 mm which is the same as the M42 mount. If you are wearing a camera, you will come up with a way to attach a 37-42 mm conversion ring to the lens and use it with the M42 mount adapter.

It’s always nice to see classic systems brought back to life. Kind of interesting that the flange back distance wasn’t consistent though.

First of all, it is flange back variation. Although I do not know whether it is due to manufacturing or due to secular change, the existing body of Asahi Flex seems to have variations in flange back as it is said. Rayquar gets 7 to 8 ASAHI flex bodies, measures flange back, calculates realistic flange back figures with variations added. I am designing a mount adapter based on that.
