DPReview has completed their Sony RX10 III Review and in their estimation the Mark 3 is “All about that lens.”

“The superb quality of the RX10 III’s lens is quite a technical achievement, to say nothing of the overall feature set Sony has included as well. Whether you’re zoomed in or zoomed out, focused close or focused on infinity, you’ll be impressed with the sharpness offered by this 24-600mm equivalent F2.4-4 zoom lens.”

Pros
New 24-600mm equivalent F2.4-4 lens is optically excellent
1″-type stacked sensor provides excellent dynamic range and ISO performance
Combination of reach and video feature set is unparalleled
Tweaked ergonomics offer comfier grip and better customizability
4K/30p and high frame rate video capture modes with extensive detail
Very effective IS, particularly for 1080p
Headphone and microphone ports
Improved battery life is welcome
Great quality EVF
Weather sealed

Cons
New lens loses built-in ND filter
Lots of glass to push around means slower startup and zoom times
Autofocus prone to hunting
Touchscreen would improve control, especially AF point placement
Menu system still needs a makeover
Buttons are mushy and lack feedback
Extensive feature set overwhelms UI
May be too bulky for some
May be too pricey for some
