Crazy Sony 85mm f/1.8 Deal UPDATE: Updated

If you took advantage of the above pricing reach out to Amazon because they canceled these orders. This is a first from Amazon and it is highly disappointing, but they are offering a $20 credit for now.

It seems a lot of people are contacting them pissed off so maybe they will do more. The rep I spoke with alluded to the possibility of Amazon doing more to make this right especially after I brought up the fact that they shipped tens of thousands of dollars in gear for hundreds of dollars during Prime Day.

I’d like to encourage you not to drop this because there is always the possibility that they will make this right or offer us something a little more appropriate. Make sure you fill out the survey you receive after contacting them too.

UPDATE: Shortly after I posted this Amazon sent out this E-mail

Hello,

We recently discovered that an error caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price:

Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 Lens (SEL85F18/2)

In this case, we’re unable to offer this item for the incorrectly posted price. Therefore, we’ve canceled your order for this item. We’re sorry about this. At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced.

To make up for any inconvenience, we’re adding a $20 Amazon.com Gift Card to your account. This balance will automatically apply to your next order at Amazon.com.

We hope to see you again soon.

Sincerely,

Customer Service
Amazon.com

Please note: this e-mail was sent from a notification-only address that cannot accept incoming e-mail. Please do not reply to this message.

You should still probably keep contacting Amazon about it because this is the first time that, I am aware of, that Amazon hasn’t honored an error and we should hold them to their previous higher standards for customers. Maybe ask for $100 instead of $20.
