Sony a6000 Overheating Solution Video

It is well known that the Sony a6000 can overheat, but now fixed has filmed a detailed video of how to correct the design flaw that causes the issue. I found it interesting that the problem comes from the lack of proper thermal management materials and that according to the creator of the video only a7ii cameras have the proper thermal management materials needed to avoid overheating issues.

Sony a6300 Dueling Video Reviewers

Digitalrev and TheCameraStoreTV each have two videos of Sony a6300 coverage, which is a bit unusual since they tend to produce concise videos. CameraStoreTV has continued to step up their analysis, while Digitalrev continues to make their videos more fun since the Kia/Lok split. I have been a big fan of both channels since their start, but it seems like CameraStoreTV is starting to pull away from the rest of the Youtube camera reviews in terms of quality . Voigtländer 10mm f/5.6 Hyper Wide Heliar ASPH Lens For Sony E Mount

Voigtlander 10mm f:5.6 Hyper Wide Heliar aspherical lens for Sony E mount

The announcement of the Voigtländer 10mm and 12mm hasn’t been handled well because there is a lot of confusion being generated by the new E-mount variants of Voigtländer lenses. Initially, it was believed that both the M and E mount 10mm lenses would be $899, but that misconception has been corrected. The Sony E-mount edition will retail for $999, which was confirmed by B&H Photo where you can preorder.

So what does the additional money and less adaptable mount get you? The translation of DC.Watch’s coverage of the Voigtländer 10mm and 12mm indicated that the E-mount lens is optically different from the M-mount variant and that it will be electronically connected to your Sony body, so there will be valid exif data available, without having to do additional work after shooting. Further, the manual that is now available corroborates DC.Watch, but it is difficult to determine if the optical differences will lead to improved image quality. I am going to try to get a copy of both at the same time to compare them directly. Shipping is expected to start this month.
