Sony FE 200-600mm 5.6-6.3mm G OSS Karma and Honesty

Today we were supposed to see the launch of the Sony 200-600mm lens according to my original rumor from weibo, but I didn’t go crazy pushing it because Sony rumors tend to be unreliable. The only thing that was certain about this lens rumor was that it existed due to the photos.

The site that stole the rumor I found and largely got credit for it by emailing multiple sites about the leak after they posted almost 30 minutes after me, then went on to try to drown out the competition today again with multiple fabricated posts based on “sources” while I remained silent. This is largely how that site operates because they do not care about cameras, photography, or accuracy, just clicks, and affiliate income…. so guess what… it didn’t happen today at the “expected” time and now they are off to their next speculative or stolen rumor to control the narrative and audience while building up their SEO. This is basicly why YouTubers complain about sites that are supported by affiliate links (also youtube doesn’t make affiliate clicks easy so advertising income has to pick up the slack).

Most Sony rumors come from Chinese social media and Asian sites, but every time I beat the competition to the news they have to acknowledge the true source of the rumor instead of just saying they got it from a source or acknowledging SonyAddict’s find. If you read both sites or come across this post you should be aware of the competitions practices. These are not uncommon with large overseas sites either, especially in Russia and China, but we do not do this on the Addict sites.

Further, if I can not find the “source” (site) that a rumor was taken from I’m just not going to post it here because I can’t judge the accuracy of the rumor. I prefer publishing accurate posts to clickbait and I am not going to keep up with the volume of posts out there just to make a buck I would rather be out shooting.

Speculation about the original rumor could lead you to a proper conclusion that June 5/6th was an NDA event and yes it is likely journalists will leak some info from the event to gain favor, especially in places that might make enforcement of an NDA difficult (China), but the days and weeks leading up to an announcement are really the only times that solid rumors drop from NDA attendees that do not honor their contracts, because companies almost never enforce them. These companies rarely if ever make last-minute decisions so errors usually just expose the level of speculation that a rumor involves. Hopefully, we aren’t left waiting much longer for the Sony FE 200-600mm 5.6-6.3mm G OSS.

B10 Plus vs the B10
The three key differences between the B10 and the B10 Plus are flash power, size, and weight. They also share the same accessories but the bag size in the single head kits are made appropriate to their individual sizes.

Press Release:
Profoto B10 Plus – More power of small
With the B10 Plus, shooting on location isn’t about problems, it’s about opportunities.

Because shooting on location forces you to make choices.

For the most part, those choices inevitably come down to how much gear to bring and how much gear to leave behind.

Because if you’re shooting a wedding, for example, you can’t afford for your gear to slow you down. And if the location is remote there’s only so much you can realistically carry. Ultimately, there’s always a compromise. Read More »
