Rumored Sony a7IV and a7S Specs

EOSHD came across some specs for the upcoming a7 cameras that Photorumors shared. They seem possible, but not very plausible to me since the video specs are so disappointing. It’s also odd to jump to a7SIV over a7SIII with such an unimpressive long-delayed upgrade.

New Affordable Zonlai Square Hoods

Zonlai released a teaser for their new affordable Leica style square lens hoods which look really nice and feature Sony cameras. The hoods attach via filter threads so the 49mm hood designed for the Zonlai 35mm f/1.6 should fit several Sony lenses like the Sony FE 28mm f/2, Sony Sonnar T* FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA, Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA, and many NEX lenses (APS-C).

The 46mm that is designed for the Zonlai 22mm f/1.8 should fit on the Sigma 19mm f/2.8 EX DN (both versions) and Sigma 30mm F/2.8 EX DN, which are NEX lenses (APS-C).

The hoods should be available soon on Amazon for around $25 when they become available in the US

Laowa Argus f/0.95 Coming Soon?

Venus Optics Laowa has a new 0.95 line of lenses coming after the leaked Laowa 15mm f/4.5W-Dreamer Tilt-Shift. Details are limited at this time, but this line will come to DSLR and Mirrorless Full Frame / APS-C. Venus Optics hasn’t decided on the mounts to target yet or even a final design, but it is in progress and the details were leaked from a small meeting, which was able to be confirmed.

It is believed that the first lens we see in this line will fall between 20-35mm, which isn’t surprising since Laowa has made some excellent affordable wide glass recently. This 0.95 line could be like when SLR Magic made a very high-quality 50mm f/0.95 Noktor for M-Mount that was around $4k that came close to beating the legendary expensive Leica Noctilux 0.95. With what we have seen from Laowa lately I would not be surprised to see this level of quality at an even more reasonable price than what SLR Magic could reach.
