Sony a7IV and New $5,999 Professional Sony Camera Leaked

Photorumors is reporting that Sony has two cameras coming in 2021. One is the Sony a7IV and the other is a professional top of the line camera that could be a Sony a9III or maybe a Sony a9R or even a Sony a9S if Sony is looking to expand their a9 lineup of professional cameras.

Sony hasn’t really reached up to the $5,999 price point with their still cameras so this should be something completely new, but I would venture to guess with a9 in the name. Either way we will know soon since this camera is rumored to be Q1 of 2021.

In Q1 2021 Sony will launch a new top of the line camera with the following specifications:

  • Bigger and truly pro body
  • 9.44M dots EVF
  • Newly developed sensor
  • 8K video recording with no overheating
  • Dual card slots
  • New menu systems from A7S3
  • IBIS with Steady shot active mode
  • Everything about this camera is new
  • Price $5,999

Sony a7 IV will be launch sometime in 2021 (probably Q3) with the following specifications:

  •  Slight bigger and more comfortable body than A7III
  • 3.68M dot EVF
  • 1.44M dot LCD
  • Newly developed 30 MP sensor
  • 4K 60p with no overheating
  • Dual SD and CFexpress Type A card slots
  • New menu system from A7S3
  • 5-axis in-body stabilization with Steady shot active mode
  • Price $2,499

Prototypes for both cameras are already out in the wild.

Next Major Upgrade to ON1 Photo RAW & ON1 Photo RAW 360 Announced Plus ON1 Portrait AI

Portland, OR – September 21, 2020 – ON1, creators of ON1 Photo RAW, release an all-new AI portrait editing application and additional plug-in support, new creative features for ON1 Photo RAW for Mobile, and unveils the next major upgrade to ON1 Photo RAW & ON1 Photo RAW 360.
The first to arrive today is the all-new ON1 Portrait AI, both as a standalone application and plug-in for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Corel Paintshop Pro, Apple Photos, with Capture One support coming soon. This new technology uses the latest in machine learning to find every face in portrait photos and make them look fabulous without lifting a finger. Many portrait photographers spend long hours retouching entire shoots before presenting photos to their clients. Other portrait editing software only offers one-off edits, complicated manual controls, steep learning curves, and no way to batch process when dealing with multiple faces in photos.

“This product was created to solve the main problem portrait photographers face, spending way too much time editing individual portraits or entire shoots. They need more time to focus on important things related to their photography business ON1 Portrait AI is incredibly fast at  getting through an entire shoot, no matter how many different people, and gives  stunning results,” says Dan Harlacher, VP of Product.

The software classifies every face in your photos, adds the right amount of realistic retouching to the skin, eyes, and mouth, without globally applying the same retouching to each person in the photo. For those needing to take their retouching further, ON1 Portrait AI includes some amazingly easy-to-use tools for skin retouching using frequency separation, shine reduction, blemish removal, face sculpting, and eye and teeth whitening to name a few.

In addition to ON1 Portrait AI, ON1 also released significant updates to the new ON1 Photo RAW Mobile app. ON1 Photo RAW Mobile, for iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices, now includes powerful masking features for targeting specific adjustments and effects. The latest update also includes the ON1 edge-detecting Perfect Brush to use for precise masking while painting with just a finger.. Each of the local adjustments uses ON1’s proprietary raw processing engine as well. The new masking tools also include support for Apple Pencil and Android Stylus.

The new effects and filters include ON1’s very popular Dynamic Contrast filter, the gold standard for amazing clarity and detail. Additional new filters include Curves, HDR Look, and Glow to go along with the other built-in filters; including Split Tone, Black and White, Film Grain, Vignettes, and Color Adjustment with more on the way. On the organization side, ON1 adds new easy ways to search and sort photos within the app as well.

“ON1 Photo RAW Mobile has been significantly enhanced in a short amount of time and there is more on the way. The addition of the creative masking tools and filters help make it a photography tool everyone will want to use, says Craig Keudell, President of ON1.

The final release in the ON1 fall lineup is the next major upgrade to the flagship product, ON1 Photo RAW version 2021 for Mac and Windows computers, the professional-grade photo organizer, raw processor, layered editor, and effects app, available this October. Read More »

Beware 7Artisans Knock Offs

7Artisans isnt exactly a top secret brand that hides away their R&D like other companies so I have been trying to find out more about the 7Artisans 18mm f/6.3 UFO Lens spotted here, but in doing my research I came across the above notice, which is translated below:

In recent times , the company has received more calls and complaints from customers , and has sold products under the brand name of seven craftsmen (× artisan /××Artisan). Our company has not authorized any brand, will not be authorized in the future , any company without the company’s permission to use the company name brand behavior, is an infringement of rights , our company will retain the right to pursue its legal responsibilities , hereby announce !

Report phone: 0755-82711682

I am trying to find out more, but if in doubt always buy from a trusted retailer like B&H Photo or Adorama. I do not include Amazon in this list because in my experience there is a lot of 3rd party fraud on Amazon and while their A to Z guarentee is there it can be a pain to get your money back and protect others if the 3rd party plays ball.

I recently experienced a bait and switch scam myself and the 3rd party was quick to brush my report under the rug by making an excuse and sending me a refund while letting me keep the junk. I wasn’t the only one because they had several negative reviews about receiving the wrong product, but if they keep people happy long enough they can drain whatever money is in the sellers account and shut down. Amazon did nothing about the issue since I was made whole so who knows how much they will get, but this is becoming more common.
