CEO Kazuto Yamaki of Sigma gave us some insight into Sigma’s current shortages on Twitter when he replied to someone inquiring about lens availability in the UK. According to Yamaki Sigma has been trying to catch up with strong demand, but they anticipate running into supply chain issues going into 2022. This is surprising news because many companies have already been impacted by supply chain issues and it might be an indication that Sigma is publicly anticipating a worsening of shortages. I certainly hope that is not the case, but it does seem like things are getting worse instead of better.
Sigma still has quite a few deals running from the holidays so if they have what you want in stock now might be a good time to buy or risk having an unknown wait time.
