Tony & Chelsea Northrup made some RAW files from the Sony a7R III available here and conquer with Photons to Photos findings that the a7RIII doesn’t enjoy a dynamic range advantage over the a7RII. They also did not notice an improvement in image quality, but they performance improvements are substantial. Compared to the D850 there isn’t a big difference in image quality and you can get a complete kit for slightly less with the D850 thanks to third parties, but the Sony a7RIII is more camera for the money. I am curious if they actually got that extra stop of IBIS performance that they are advertising now.
