Sony RX0: GoPro Killer or Something Else?

Sony is known for making some amazing nitch cameras, but Sony already has an action camera the Sony FDR X3000, so what does the Sony RX0 compare too? The above video by Photo Gear News tries to make a distinction about where the Sony RX0 fits in the market and skews towards the professional, but the bellow video by iphonedo makes it hard to pick as your first choice camera unless you’re going to do something with these cameras that only the RX0 can do. For instance, multi-camera synchronization for creating VR seems to be a stand out feature for the RX0.

The Sony RX0 doesn’t win a single comparison when compared to the Go Pro Hero6, iPhone X, and Sony RX100M5, but it is loaded with professional features to make video creation and multicamera assemble easier. Maybe Sony will make a Future RX0 Mark 2 that brings it more in line with the RX100’s superior performance, but as of now, the RX0 seems to be more of a proof of concept camera that Sony released to gauge interest.
