Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD FE Tested And Doesn’t Disappoint

Fotomagazini published a brief review of the Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD FE that is coming this summer and they came away impressed. Here is what they thought:

  • Sharp
  • Fast AF Stepper Motor
  • Tight zoom ring
  • Small plastic hood
  • Surprisingly small
  • Lightweight
  • Produced in Vietnam
  • Filter Diameter of 67mm
  • Front stays fixed when zooming
  • Wavy distortion at 17mm and pincushion distortion at 28mm that are easy to fix

The surprisingly small and lightweight lens produced in Vietnam and despite the high light intensity – for a zoom with this focal length range – has a filter diameter of 67 mm.

They didn’t have the price but we found it a while ago and expect it to be $999 everywhere.
