Optical Limits Verifies That The Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 Has Made The Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 Irrelevant

Sony outdid themselves with the Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 and Optical Limits (Formerly Photozone) is now the second site to confirm this fact. Sony’s standard 85mm f/1.8 is practically perfect and it cannot be beaten for the price. The lens is pin sharp wide open and has almost no distortion. Even the G Master barely beats the significantly cheaper Sony FE 85mm f/1.8, which makes it hard to recommend the G Master unless you need the f/1.4 aperture.
