How2fly is reporting that the new Sony a7RVI is coming with a new 2600mAh battery. The current Sony NPFZ100 battery is 2280mAh and has plenty of power for most users’ needs.
The new battery for the Sony A7R6 is incompatible with older Sony cameras, as the positions of its electrical contacts have changed. The battery has a capacity of over 2600 mAh.
Sony might maintain the same form factor as the Z series of batteries, like Fujifilm did when they released the NP-W126S, which will give older cameras a boost.
