Sony a7SIII Final Specs Revealed

- New BIONZ-XR processor with 8x the computing power of the old BIONZ Processor
- 3.0 inches, 1.44 million point selfie touch screen
- New touch screen menus
- Controls have become larger
- The camera has two modes of settings for photos and video
- EVF 9.44 million points and magnification 0.9x
- Glasses mode makes it so you can see everything with glasses on
- Full Pixel readout without pixel binning or crop up to 4k 60p
- 4k 60p for one hour before heat becomes an issue
- 4k 120p has 1.1x crop and more limited length
- 1080 240p
- Can record at 1p for time-lapse in S&Q mode
- Internal 4:2:2 10-bit
- New XAVC-SI codec All-I 500 Mbits
- XAVS-HS reduces data demands to 200Mbits due to H.265
- ProRes RAW Support with Atomos
- HDMI 2.1 can output 4k 60p as 16-bit raw files for ProRes RAW
- Logarithmic gamma profile available (S-Log 2/3) supports 15 stops ISO starts at 640 and there is extended ISO of 160
- Significantly improved rolling shutter
- 5-axis image stabilizer CIPA rated for 5.5 stops
- In video mode you can add digital stabilization (active mode) which uses the gyro sensor
- Information from gyro sensor is stored in metadata for processing later for digital stabilization
- Fast hybrid autofocus covers 92% of the image sensor and uses 759 measuring fields with phase detection and 425 with contrast AF
- Human and animal eye AF at greater distances than before
- AF sensitivity of -6EV
- 10 FPS mechanical shutter that goes up to 1/8000th
- Dual SD UHS -II card slots that support CFexpress Type-A cards
- For most video V60/V90 cards are sufficient
- CFexpress is only required in S&Q mode with 4: 2: 2 color subsampling and 10-bit color depth
- Can shoot 1,000 uncompressed raws in a row with CFexpress A cards
- Sony plans to launch two CFexpress Type A cards in September with a write speed of 700 MB/s and a read speed of 800 MB/s
- 80 GB version is said to be 230 euros, the 160 GB version 440 Cost euros
- Z-Battery 600 photos or 95 minutes of video
- Continuous power supply via USB is also possible
- Shipping September for around 4200 euros
