Fells the same as other Tamron zooms
Lightweight only about 335g or 0.74lbs
67mm filter just like the other Tamron lenses for E-mount
Weather-resistant
Consistent build quality in their lineup
Would have been nice to have an AF/MF switch
No IBIS
Autofocus is very good
Some breathing during manual focus
Almost not LoCA and the lens is overall very well controlled
Great macro ability on paper 1:4 at 11mm but focusing minimum focus distance is about 6 inches
Macro is very usable at 20mm with better corners etc
Flare is well controlled
Sun stars arent very beautiful
Ghosting when stopping down too far
Bokeh has a good out of focus transition
Very sharp wide open at all focal lengths but the corners can be a little soft and the corners improve at f/5.6
You will like this lens even at 11mm wide open
Another great lens from Tamron
The Sony only adds optical stabilization, but it isn’t needed
DPRTV hopes all of Tamron’s APS-C lenses come to X-mount in the future
