Panasonic’s new S1 and S1R camera were added to the DPR Studio comparison tool here, Panasonic’s sensor seems to compare well to Sony, but will it be enough? The main area where Panasonic L-Mount cameras fall behind Sony at this time is with their DFD AF system that is significantly behind Sony’s current AF system, but maybe Panasonic will try something with PDAF in the future. It’s certainly worth keeping an eye on Panasonic going forward since they are starting with a great lens line up that will features both Leica and Sigma AF glass.
