Sony APS-C Global Shutter Sensor Are Coming

Image Sensor World spotted 6 new global shutter sensors on Sony’s website. The IMX367LLA, IMX342LQA, IMX392LQR, IMX305LQR, IMX304LLR/LQR, and IMX267LLR/LQR are very interesting and range from 2.35MP 1/2.3-inch IMX392LLR/LQR to 31.5MP APS-C IMX342LLA/LQA.

The IMX342LQA could easily go in a camera like the Sony a6700 or a7000 and cause disruption in the APS-C Market. As exciting as the Fujifilm X-T3 launch has been an APS-C camera with a global shutter would be huge and shake up APS-C cameras.

The IMX342LQA is a diagonal 27.9mm (APS-C) CMOS active pixel type solid-state image sensor with a square pixel array and 31.49M effective pixels. This chip features a global shutter with variable charge-integration time. This chip operates with analog 3.3 V, digital 1.2 V, and interface 1.8V triple power supply, and has low power consumption. High sensitivity, low dark current and low PLS characteristics are achieved. (Applications: FA cameras, ITS cameras)
